At the beginning of the month, we welcomed our latest new starter Fryni Kostara. Fryni joins Crest with a strong background in criminology, having previously worked in the Serious Violence Analysis team in the Home Office. Here, Fryni conducted rapid evidence reviews and quantitative analysis of serious violence trends, supporting policy and ministerial briefings.
Fryni has an MSc in Crime Science at UCL, an MSc in Criminal Justice Policy at LSE and an LLB in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and is currently in the process of finalising her PhD at Cardiff University. Her thesis, a collaborative research project with the Security Industry Authority (SIA), explores the regulation of private security in the UK and its challenges in contemporary society, with a specific focus on the door supervision sector.
Fryni will be supporting the Strategy & Insight team on a range of qualitative and quantitative projects.
