Sarah, Danielle and Isabelle join the team

Friday 18 March 2022

Sarah Hibbert is Crest's newest Analyst and will be working across our research and consultancy projects. Sarah holds an undergraduate and masters degree in Criminology from the University of Manchester, where she focused her research on illicit drug markets, child criminal exploitation (CCE) and county lines. Before joining Crest, Sarah worked with Black Box research and consultancy across county lines and CCE workshops, critically assessing the UK government’s 10 year drugs strategy. Sarah also took part in the 2019 Learning Together programme, studying alongside incarcerated students.

Sarah said:

As someone who has a keen passion for crime and justice policy, I’m very excited to work with Crest and contribute to evidence-based effective change in the criminal justice system, alongside developing my research skills.

Danielle Bayatti will be supporting the Strategy & Insight team as an Analyst Intern, working on a variety of qualitative and quantitative projects. Danielle completed an undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Kent where she explored the effects of gambling addiction amongst young people. Danielle also spent a year working for the NHS in a Neurodevelopmental paediatric unit where she worked in both a clinical and research capacity.

Danielle said:

I’m a firm believer that sustainable change is only possible when there is a solid foundation of research and data to back it up. At Crest, I’m looking to merge my psychological background with my developing knowledge of crime to help develop insights from research and data to not only better society, but also improve the interventions employed by leading bodies.

On secondment from the Generalist Civil Service Fast Stream, Isabelle De-Ferrer will assist the Strategy & Insight team in delivering their projects over the next six months. Isabelle's two previous roles focused on EU Exit policies; acting as a strategic advisor to HMRC on Freeports and as a parliamentary bill officer in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on genetically modified organisms. Prior to this, Isabelle completed a degree in Geography at the University of Leeds, specialising in politics and international security. During that time she undertook a year long academic exchange at the National University of Singapore.
