Earlier this month we were delighted to welcome new Strategy and Insight Manager, Oli Hutt, to the team.
Oli has a Masters degree in Countering Organised Crime and Terrorism and a PhD in Crime Science, focused on measuring the deterrent effect of police patrols in micro-places. He has worked on projects mapping the geospatial distribution of human trafficking across the UK and a report for the College of Policing analysing the spatial and temporal trends in violent crime in London.
At Crest, Oli is currently working on a major project for Devon and Cornwall PCC into the nature and drivers of violence across the region, investigating how services can work better to ensure at risk individuals don't fall through the gaps and are supported long term. He is also working on a research project into the social and economic costs of maternal imprisonment.
Head of Research and Policy Joe Caluori said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have Oli on board. With his expertise and experience he will be a huge asset to our growing team."
Oli said: "The team at Crest are energetic and passionate and I can't wait to put my experience in policing and data analytics to work to help our partners make evidence-based decisions that really benefit society.”
