In August last year, Crest began an evaluation of CASS+ (Community Advice and Support Services Plus) in Devon and Cornwall. Here, we provide a brief update on our progress.
CASS+ is a third sector organisation which places highly trained staff and volunteers in magistrates' courts to help defendants and their families find the services they need. Funded by the Centre for Justice Innovation via the Lloyds Foundation, the evaluation into the organisation is set to establish a clear rationale for the replication and expansion of the CASS+ model in other areas, as well as codifying the key implementation and delivery factors that will drive success.
We are set to publish our final evaluation findings report by early 2022. To find out more about the CASS+ evaluation, read the piece we wrote for their website to provide an update on our progress.
Evaluations are a significant feature of Crest's portfolio, with previous experience including an evaluation of the impact of a victims' service and an evaluation of interventions as part of the government's Prevent scheme.
