Main purpose and scope
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the majority of the financial activities of the organisation, including strategic planning and implementation of an annual financial plan, budget and forecasts. The role will also be responsible for risk management and governance. The post-holder will work alongside the current CFO who will be working reduced hours and focussing solely on business growth and investment.

Hours and location
Based at our offices at 2 Bath Place, Old Street, London for 3 days per week
Our working assumption is that this role will require 24 hours per week, details to be discussed with the appointable candidate
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Crest’s goals and objectives. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team. Lead long-term financial planning and budgeting processes.
Financial Operations and Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial modelling to support decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with the rest of the Senior Management Team. Monitor and analyse budget performance, identifying and addressing variances. Develop and maintain financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure robust internal controls are in place and regularly reviewed.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop individuals directly and indirectly involved with the financial administration of the organisation, fostering a culture of high performance. Promote continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. Encourage professional growth and development within the team.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate financial performance and insights to the executive team and board of directors. Collaborate with the rest of the Senior Management Team and support them with ad hoc financial/budgetary analysis.

Essential qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA,CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience as in finance - this role would suit a Finance Manager with demonstrable experience and looking to stretch towards a Head of Finance role or a Head of Finance looking for a new challenge
Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial analysis
Proficiency in financial software, ideally Xero
Familiarity with the microsoft suite - ability to analyse and visualise data in excel
