After completing a PhD in History at King’s College London, Molly joined Crest as an analyst Intern, and was soon promoted to Assistant Analyst. She supports Crest with qualitative and quantitative analysis on a range of projects, as well as writing briefing notes and assisting with focus groups, building on previous experience in academic and policy research. As part of the UKRI Policy Internships Scheme, Molly wrote an international evidence review for the Department for Work and Pensions in 2019. She has also volunteered as a welfare benefits adviser in two independent advice agencies.

Key achievements

  • Completed a PhD in History at King’s College London, examining how far eighteenth-century people could explain the power relations which structured their lives.

  • Completed a quality-assured evidence review for the Department for Work and Pensions, comparing the aims and impact of UK housing benefit to housing assistance in four other countries.

  • Published a chapter in an edited volume on black British history.

  • Ertegun Scholar at the University of Oxford in 2015/16, receiving a distinction for an MSt thesis on gender, poverty and neighbourhood in early modern London.
